2020 Campus Traffic Safety Awareness Campaign and Free Bike Safety Inspection during NTU Bicycle Week

1. Objective
With the campus traffic awareness information session and the free bicycle safety inspection service, we hope to encourage NTU students to keep their bikes in excellent and safe working conditions. In addition, we aim to raise awareness of the importance of abiding by bicycling etiquette, nighttime bike-riding safety and parking bicycles only in authorized locations.

3. Who is eligible
NTU students (200 students are expected to be served)

4. Signing up for the service
To receive a service voucher for free bicycle safety inspection, you must (1) sign up online at the NTU Events and Activities Registration website and (2) attend the Campus Traffic Safety Awareness information session for students. Bring the service voucher, along with your valid student ID, to the to the Bicycle Shop during the event for free bike safety inspection.

5. Available bike safety inspection services
Safety checks on bicycle parts and components, proper inflation of tires, lubrication of chains, and simple adjustments. We also provide free replacement of major safety-related parts, including brake pads, brake cables and brake cable sleeves (if necessary). With these free services we hope to improve and enhance the basic safety conditions of bicycles on campus.
Additionally, we provide optional, fee-based services on parts that are not directly related to safety. These include pedals, kickstands, saddles, tires and inner tubes, front baskets, and cargo racks.
We will also be communicating bicycling etiquette and safety tips with the students, such as refraining from parking without authorization, riding with passenger(s) and riding in dismount zones (where cyclists are required to walk beside their bikes); as well as paying special attention to bicycling safety on campus at night.
